LS1 powered Ford Courier 2003
Description
Not your normal Ford Courier ! 505 horsepower! NZ new, but Re-powered with hub dynotuned LS1 engine and auto trans. Receipts for engine build $13,000 at Edgell performance in Auckland Immaculate panelled and painted bodywork with all glass replaced with brand new windows. Interior all original apart from electric windows in the front doors. Last WOF was in 2011, rego is on hold. I would imagine it needs low volume cert and panel cert to make legal on the road again as the cert rules were different back in those days. Requirements for the cert would probably require an electric vacuum pump and storage tank to enable the engine vacuum required at the brake booster to be 20ins hg constantly. Also requires speedo calibration. The radical cam in this engine only allows the vacuum at idle to pull about 10 ins hg, which is not enough for good brakes at idle or low RPM. Panel cert probably required as a new firewall was installed to allow the Engine to fit. All the work on this ute was done back in 2009, and has been in storage since 2012 approximately. It's a true example of a sheep in wolf's clothing. An ideal project for the mini-truck enthusiast to finish off!
