Enclosed Trailer - has PV + lighting + elec
Description
This is a very solid NZ built tandem axle fully galvanised trailer. The box is made of solid fibreglass over plywood.
Free floor area excluding workbench = 1500 wide and 2800 long. Total internal length 2870. Internal height just shy of 2m tall. External 2500 wide by 4500 long (to tow ball) and 2600 tall from ground.
Started life as a Contractor’s trailer. The previous owner then striped it out, painted it, built a custom bench/shelf, fitted solar panels and a 55AH battery as well as mains caravan electricity connection (electrical certificate available). Also has been fitted with side windows and roof vent with mosquito protection nets.
I purchased this so I could sleep in it a few nights while initial earthworks were happening at our section, then used it as storage for garden equipment onsite. It has been a wonderful and very useful trailer, but now our works are complete on the section and I no longer have use for it.
A couple of negative items:
- On one side of the trailer the gelcoat has bubbled. It is still totally solid but could be sanded back with new gelcoat applied to make perfect. It was already like that when I bought it, and I just never got around to sorting it out. Previous owner has included a fibre-glass gelcoat hit in the trailer which is still there.
- Due to sitting stationary in my garden the last few years, the brake callipers have seized… I have un-seized them and trailer can be used as an ‘un-braked trailer” for now, but those will need a rebuild before the next WOF. Was about $250 estimate when I talked to local mechanic.
Trailer is available from Tutukaka (Whangarei coast). Could discuss potential options to have it brought to Auckland if needed for the new purchaser. Trailer owes me $8,5K…but due to gelcoat and brake calliper degradation I am happy to let it go for a $1,500 discount.
Will need new WOF if going to be used on the road – Rego is on hold so no issues there.
