Cummins 6CTA 8.3 (40,000kms) with Auto Trans include Free International chassis

FOR SALE - Cummins 6CTA 8.3 Litre engine with Turbo (approximately 35-40,000kms on the engine) Automatic Transmission THESE ARE BEING SOLD AS PART OF THE CHASSIS, CAB and ALL RUNNING GEAR. It can be driven on to a Transporter.

Here are some photo’s and information re the engine and gearbox I am selling.

I believe the 1983 International ex NZ Fire Service Fire Engine originaly powered by a 392 petrol V8 was re-powered in 2002 with the Cummins diesel engine. See the attached link from Carjam to give you an idea of its history. It had its last COF in 2016 and has been parked up for the last 10 years other than running occasionally to move it.

I was going to use the engine in another vehicle I was restoring however that project is no longer going ahead.

The engine is still mounted in the original chassis which may be a good source of spare parts possibly.

The vehicle is in Seaview, Lower Hutt if someone wants to look it over it (please arrange beforehand). It is being sold AS IS, the rego lapsed several years ago according to the previous owner.
