Questions & Answers
Hi there, which design is it currently in, black, Japan, car or bike? leew (1347 • 9:56 am, Sat, 24 Jan )it doesn’t matter, once the plates are registered to your vehicle you can swap styles as you please. morcs (869 • Saturday, 24 January 2026 )Hey, u might want to double check yr comment. I tried last week to put a car plate into bike, year year it was only $26 if I wanted the plate remanufactured. Last week, even if I didn't want it remade, Kiwiplates are changing $199 for redesign!! That's why I'm specifically asking leew (1347 • 10:10 am, Sat, 24 Jan )i’ve swapped these plates from bikes to cars many many times, the same way as with a car. once the plate is made for a bike (like mine is) it’s no longer anything to do with kiwi plates, i just go to vtnz and do everything the same way as switching from car to car. morcs (869 • Saturday, 24 January 2026 )Agreed, as I said, I've done this in the past as well. However, last week, there's a new system in place... VTNZ need to be advised by Kiwiplates that it's either on car or bike, and for that Kiwiplates want to charge redesign of $199... that's why I'm asking what is the current fix to, either bike or car? Thanks leew (1347 • 10:21 am, Sat, 24 Jan )it was last used on a car. morcs (869 • Saturday, 24 January 2026 )
