The Moto Guzzi V75 was introduced in 1989 as a stroked version of the V65 engine. It was designed to be reliable and powerful, and was the forerunner of the current V7 range. The V75 had a 744cc engine with an 80mm bore and a 74mm stroke It had a compression ratio of 9.7:1 and was fed by two PHBO 30 Dell'Orto carburetors and produced 45 horsepower at 6,800 rpm. The V75 had a Mistral exhaust system and handled well with a dry weight of 175kg.
