1950 Ford Anglia E93a
Background check
This vehicle has been de-registered in the past and then registered again. The registration may have expired because the licence was not kept current or it may have been in an accident and written off by an insurance company.
Description
Now and again a very special classic car comes to the market, and this is one of them. Restored to original with disregard to cost, this Prefect is as close to brand new as it is possible to achieve. The restoration ended in 2015 after years of top-quality workmanship, and since then the car has driven just 1244 miles (1990km). It has spent most of its time in a showroom. Only the best of materials were used, and the leather alone imported specially from Italy cost more than the asking price. In September 2020 a well-known NZ classic car vendor advertised the Prefect for $22,500 and sold it for a little less than the asking price (Documentation available). Today’s asking price of $13,995 therefore must represent great value. If pristine is what you want, this little Ford delivers. The car comes with workshop manuals and brochures and is located in Te Aroha in the Waikato. Please note the model is actually a Prefect, not an Anglia, but TradeMe does not let me specify Prefect. And also, mileage is 98000 miles, not kilometres.

Cheers. rapidrip (16 • 4:09 pm, Sat, 6 Dec )I have no documentation to support the installation of shell bearings over the Babbitts, but best indication is the Babbitts were standard on the 1950 Prefects, and the car has been restored to reflect the original car in every respect.
