2016 Nissan Leaf
Description
This car will make a great in-town runabout. Great as a 2nd car. Expect up to about 90km range driving at in town speeds.
Lots of safety features of a modern car. New 12v battery installed 2 months ago. Excellent tyres (WOF reports FL 3mm, FR 4mm, RL 5mm, RR 5mm). New WOF on 16th September 2016. Registration through to April 2026. RUC (road user charges) paid up until 123,038 km (currently 1,523 left). Includes Thule roof-racks. Includes one original key.
Due to the age of the battery, this car is not great for open road driving, range will be poor when travelling over 80 km/h. The battery is not capable of accelerating fast, or driving fast up steep hills. It does perform very well around town, including hills.
If the car is pushed beyond it limits (heavy acceleration), the car will enter "turtle mode" for crawling to safety. The 12v battery will then need to be disconnected to reset the battery management and ideally the car recharged soon.
I drove on the open road yesterday. The trip is 66.3km return. At the end of the trip I had 22% battery remaining. I averaged about 70-80 km/h. I always kept the throttle under about 30%. Flat sections: 80 - 90 km/h Down hill: 100 km/h Town: 50 km/h Up steeper hills: gradually shedding speed down to 50 km/hr

Battery health from "Leaf spy pro" report (images attached) interpreted by ChatGPT:
Battery health: SOH 56.8%, Ahr 45.12, Hx 24.9% Usable energy @ 100%: ~16.5 kWh (from 15.4 kWh at 93.2% SOC ? 15.4/0.932) Cells: 4.072–4.088 V, ? = 16 mV (well balanced) Temps: 15.6–17.0 °C (outside ~15.5 °C) 12 V system: ~12.9–13.0 V (looks fine) Odo: ~121,550 km (75,528 mi) Charges: 291 DC fast / 3,341 AC Tile shows 4.0 mi/kWh ˜ 6.44 km/kWh.
At your current SOC (~93%) and ~6.4 km/kWh, expect roughly 90–95 km to 5% (LeafSpy’s 55.3 mi ˜ 89 km is in that ballpark).
For curiosity: absolute max to 0% would be ~106 km at 6.4 km/kWh, but don’t plan on that.

Correction to the WOF line: New WOF on **16th September 2025** (The car received a new WOF a few days ago). Also, the car includes an at home charger cable (normal home power socket). Plus another adapter cable which is required at some charging stations. Seller comment Friday, 19 September 2025 How many kms for full charge with eco? sunny20131 (1 • 10:06 pm, Tue, 23 Sep )I always used the car with eco on. It’s helpful for lowering the demand on the battery. In town at 50-60kmh I think you will get 90km distance. Ideally you want at least 20% left as a safety margin. So would suit someone wanting up to 60-70km daily driving. dougalw (507 • Tuesday, 23 September 2025 )
