Services now in general search results
We’ve added Services listings to general search results this morning. That means when you search Trade Me under ‘All items’, you may see Services listings depending on the keywords you’ve entered.
It’s not a massive change, but it’ll make it much easier for people to find plumbers, builders, caterers, cleaners, lawyers, beauty therapists, horse dentists, and much more.
New categories added today
In light of recent feedback we’ve added some new categories to the site, including:
1. Some iPhone categories in Mobile Phones
2. A Truck Parts category in Motors
3. A Greenhouses category in Home & Living
4. A Bulk CDs category in Music & Instruments
5. A Terrestrial Receivers category in Electronics & Photography
We’re moving relevant listings into the new categories, so please bear with us today as we make these changes. More...
Payments over Easter
The banks shut up shop over Easter, which means some payments to Trade Me accounts will be processed a little later than usual.
If you pay via phone or internet banking after 10pm on Thursday 21 April, the payment will not be processed to your account until the morning of Wednesday 27 April.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused, but that is how the banks roll for public holidays. We hope you all have a fantastic Easter break.
Travelbug wants to reward Kiwi office stars
Just a quick note to let know you about a competition our Travelbug cousins are running to acknowledge office stars around the country.
Administrative Professionals Day (formerly known as Secretary's Day) is on Wednesday 27 April, and Travelbug is giving away $500 Travelbug vouchers to three office stars – those people around the workplace that keep the office humming but maybe don’t get thanked enough.
Also up for grabs are three $500 Travelbug vouchers for the people who nominate the winning office stars. More...
Pink Shirt Kev: Bullying is not OK
You might be wondering why our Trade Me kiwi, Kevin, is all decked out in a pink polo shirt today. The reason is because April 14 is Pink Shirt Day in New Zealand.
Pink Shirt Day is an anti-bullying initiative kicked off in Canada when a kid in Nova Scotia came to school wearing a pink shirt and was teased and bullied for it. To counteract it, his classmates came in the next day wearing pink shirts to stand up against them. They bought 50 pink shirts and stood in the school foyer handing them out to classmates.
Pink Shirt Day is now established in other countries around the world to raise awareness and help stop bullying in schools and elsewhere. In New Zealand, it is being supported by several organisations including the Mental Health Foundation. More...
