Community Watch

Today we are launching “Community Watch” – an initiative to improve safety on Trade Me.

With the Trade Me community now over 500,000 strong, we believe a community led initiative, combined with our own pro-active policing efforts, will ensure listings that seem “to good to be true” or are in breach of our terms and conditions are identified early and removed.

Each auction now includes a “Report this listing” link. Simply click this link to bring listings to our attention. We will review each and every listing that is reported.

We have been trialing a “Make a complaint” link on each Trade Me auction for some time. A number of traders have been using these links to report listings – and also in our message boards. We are grateful to those members that take the time to keep Trade Me a safe place to buy and sell.

Community watch joins Trader feedback, Authentication, Address Verified and Safetrader as our core trust and safety initiatives.
