Slow payments workaround

Update - This issue has been resolved - sorry for any inconvenience!

..................

A number of members have told us that they've experienced delays when topping up their account or buying something with a debit/credit card recently.

We're really sorry for the inconvenience and we are working on a fix. In the meantime we have a workaround so you don't get delayed with payments onsite.

The issue looks to be caused when users have lots of Trade Me windows or tabs open at the same time. To make sure payments go through like they should, you need to close all your internet browser windows and tabs and try your payment again (see the instructions below).

We realise this isn't an ideal solution, we're working on a permanent solution now and we'll let you know as soon as it's ready to roll.

Further information
How do I close all my browsers?
If you're trying to buy something on Trade Me and it's going slowly it appears to be because you have lots of windows open (this shouldn't happen normally so we are fixing it).

Please follow the following steps to close your browser and start again:

Windows users
1. Make sure you've finished using the other windows (e.g. send that email or make that bank transfer)
2. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete
3. Select 'Task Manager'
4. When Task Manager opens select your web browser (i.e. Chrome or Safari)
5. Hit 'End Task'
6. If you have multiple web browsers open repeat steps 4 & 5
7. Open your web browser again - go to Trade Me and try your payment again.

Mac users
1. Make sure you've finished what you're doing in your other tabs (e.g. send that email or make that bank transfer)
2. Press Command+Option+Esc on your keyboard to open the 'Force Quit Applications'
3. Select your web browser (i.e. Chrome or Safari)
4. Click 'Relaunch'
5. Open your web browser again - go to Trade Me and try your payment again.

What if this doesn't work for me?
If you're still having trouble please send our Customer Service team a note and they'll get in touch.
