Privacy policy changes come into effect today

A couple of weeks ago, we let you know about some changes we were making to our privacy policy. Those changes come into effect today.

Trade Me Job Profiles

In December last year we announced a change we’d made to our privacy policy to allow us to begin work on Trade Me Job Profiles, which enables job hunters to display relevant skills and experience to recruiters and prospective employers. Job Profiles is now out in beta with a small group of enthusiastic job hunters.

We're updating our privacy policy today, as we continue to roll out functionality. Later this month, we’ll begin using a third party to scan CVs that you submit to us, to automatically populate your Job Profile with your CV information. When you submit a CV and activate your Job Profile, your CV information will be ready for you to use, saving you time.

We require any third parties to undertake strict precautions to protect your information against unauthorised use or disclosure.

Krux is now Salesforce DMP

In 2015, we introduced a new type of customised advertising, delivered via a data management platform (DMP) operated by a company called Krux. Last year, US-based Salesforce acquired Krux, and they’ve updated the DMP’s name to ‘Salesforce DMP.’ We’ve updated our privacy policy and help pages to reflect this name change.

The way we use your information hasn’t changed. To learn more about customised advertising on Trade Me, or to opt out, you can check out our ‘Ad Options & your info’ help page.

If you have any questions about these changes, please let us know.
