A reminder about Rugby World Cup tickets
With the third phase of Rugby World Cup 2011 ticketing being rolled out this week, we thought it wise to ensure members were clear on restrictions around the sale of these tickets.
Our position has not changed: we want Rugby World Cup 2011 to be a massive success, and we won’t be doing anything that might undermine this.
In addition, the Rugby World Cup 2011 is a “major event” under the 2007 Major Events Management Act, which means tickets can’t be sold above face value. The T&Cs of the tickets also don’t allow resale or transfer to anyone you don’t know personally, so you should assume you can only pass on tickets to friends and loved ones.
If you've been successful in the ballot but no longer want to attend the games you have been offered tickets for, our advice is that you shouldn’t buy the tickets.
It’s also important to remember that for any event, we don’t let people sell tickets they don’t have.
