Australian motor vehicle statutory write-offs

Written by The Trade Me Team in General at 4:30pm, Wed 11 May 2016

Today we’re announcing that we’re including an addition to our banned and restricted list, and rolling out a new policy for listing Australian imported motor vehicles, which have been statutorily written off in Australia. The new policy is that Motor Vehicle Traders must disclose in the listing body if a motor vehicle was statutorily written off in Australia.

Trade Me is concerned that there are vehicles in the New Zealand fleet that have been through the statutory write-off process in Australia and then on-sold without the buyers being aware of the history of the vehicle.

Updated wine selling policy

Written by The Trade Me team in General at 12:30pm, Fri 29 Apr 2016

We’ve just updated our policy for selling wine on Trade Me. These changes make it clearer that sellers need to display their off-licence information on their listings. This has always been the case under NZ law, but we were keen to clarify. We’ve also highlighted that sometimes we might need info that shows a seller’s licence remains in force.

Our wine seller application form has also had a revamp.

These updates come into effect immediately for all future wine sellers.

Toot toot! List your car on the iOS app

Written by The Trade Me team in General and Motors at 11:00am, Thu 21 Apr 2016

Gone are the days of taking photos and emailing them to yourself to upload via the desktop site. Now you can list your car on the Trade Me iOS app and upload up to 20 images at once while you're standing in front of your ride.

You can list your car as either a classified or an auction, and you can also list in ‘Car stereos’ and ‘Car parts & accessories’ now too. While you can't edit your Trade Me Motors listings from the app just yet, this will be coming in an update soon.
