Phishing emails

We have received a number of complaints from you about "phishing" emails where a scammer is asking you to login to confirm your details.

Please read our online help about
bogus emails
. Whenever you login to Trade Me please ensure the website address begins with www.trademe.co.nz

Trade Me will never ask for your password in an email.

6:30 pm: Continuing network problems

We are experiencing continuing network problems which has affected our availability to some of our members. All auctions closing up to 7:30 pm have been extended.

4:30 pm: Technical problems this afternoon

We’ve experienced some external network problems this afternoon which has affected Trade Me’s availability. The problem is unfortunately out of our control however we’ll be doing all we can to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

All auctions closing up to 5pm have been extended. We apologise for the inconvenience.

New “email the seller” limit

We have limited the number of emails each member can send through classified listings. Members can use the "email the seller" feature on up to 20 different classifieds within a 24 hour period.

This has been introduced to prevent members abusing the contact facility within classifieds.

Improvements to the bid confirmation pages

We now provide each bidder with the seller’s location, shipping details and payment methods when they place a bid or Buy Now on an auction.

This is so that bidders are made fully aware of the conditions of the auction at the time of placing a bid or Buy Now.
