Seller auction start emails

We are now sending an email to the seller everytime you start an auction. This is being done for security reasons.

Changes to categories

We have made a few changes to categories, adding several new ones and merging small categories.

We have added several car makes and an 'other' category for special cars.

Please let us know your thoughts in the category message board.

It has come to our attention that there are a number of determined scammers currently in operation attempting to hijack Trade Me accounts. One method has been to send an email, detailing problems with your TradeMe account and capturing via a mock-up of the TradeMe login page your login/password details.

As a result to some members falling foul to this. Please be aware that there may be 'scam' auctions running from members with credible feedback, even some you may have dealt with in the past.

Please pay special attention to the method of payment, and if possible attempt to diagnose via the question and answer facility the legitimacy of the auctioned goods. If you believe you have stumbled across a scam auction, please lodge a complaint (at the bottom of the form).

Changes to Trade Me Motors

- You can now browse cars by price range, as you could before our redesign last week.

- You can subscribe to the entire car category, as well as individual makes

- We have improved the cars search engine

Site stable once more
