It’s Fed Ex Day at Trade Me HQ
What cool stuff can our staff build in 24 hours? We're about to find out as Trade Me’s sixth ‘Fed Ex Day’ gets underway.
What is Fed Ex Day?
Fed Ex Day is Trade Me’s version of Atlassian’s ShipIt Day. It’s a 24-hour event where teams pull themselves together to dream up and complete a project, work furiously to bring their vision to life, and culminates in a no-holds-barred demo in front of the rest of the company.
We think it's a great way for our staff to work on some pretty interesting projects. One such project built during a past Fed Ex Day is our Spotify-based office music player, PlayMe, which is now used in our offices across the country. More...

Trade Me Property is turning 10

Trade Me Property turns 10 in June. To celebrate hitting double digits, we’re giving away $60,000 cash over the next six weeks to spend on the home you love – that’s $10,000 a week.
We’ve taken a stroll down memory lane and found six cool houses that have been listed on Trade Me Property over the past 10 years. We’ll be relisting one each week from 24 May through to 4 July. Use the clues we release weekly on formeitwas.co.nz to find the house hidden on our site. When you find it, save it to your Watchlist and you're in the draw! Easy as pie. More...
Privacy Policy changes come into effect today
We wanted to let you know that we've made some changes to our privacy policy to better explain how we handle information about you that we collect, store and use.
Here’s a summary of the areas we’ve changed.
Listing content
We’ve added a section that clarifies the way Trade Me handles different types of information that you upload. When we collect personally identifiable information, such as your name, date of birth or contact details, we protect this information very carefully. However, when you write listing content and upload images, or receive feedback from other members, we publish this for you on the site. As the content is then publicly available, it may appear elsewhere on the internet, or be accessed by developers who have access to our API. Occasionally Trade Me will use this listing content to enrich our other services, such as using vehicle images to enhance MotorWeb’s vehicle information reports, or displaying your listings to members in other advertising. You can check these changes out at clause 2 of our policy. More...
