Redesigning the listing page
We’re excited to announce we've rolled out the new listing page to all members browsing in the Monitors, iPhone and Clothing & Fashion categories – previously this was only visible by people with even member numbers.
Eventually we’ll be showing the new design in all General Items categories, but the next step is showing the new page to 5% of members across all General Items categories. If you’re part of the 5%, you could be seeing the new design from as early as today.

Super Feature for non-car sellers
From today, Super Feature will be available in Tractors and other heavy machinery categories.
As a seller, Super Feature is a great way to promote your vehicle. As the saying goes ‘first in, best dressed’, and with 73% of buyers looking at Featured listings first*, you are putting your best foot forward.
Listings with Super Feature are added to members’ Watchlists four times more than those listings without.* It boosts vehicles to the top of Motors search results in a large, prominent carousel with two additional images. Super Feature lasts for seven days. More...
Do you comply with our Code of Animal Welfare?
We recently released our new Code of Animal Welfare to promote greater animal welfare when cats or dogs are listed with us.
From today, sellers listing a cat or dog can now indicate on their listing if they comply with the Code by selecting a tick box when they create their listing, or by editing their current listing. You’ll notice that cat and dog listings now display one of the following options:
“Animal welfare: The seller has indicated this animal has been bred and cared for in accordance with Trade Me’s Code of Animal Welfare." More...
Site Issues Resolved
Earlier this evening we experienced an issue that caused Trade Me to be slow or unavailable for some members. We’ve resolved this issue and have extended all auctions due to close between 9:39pm and 10:30pm out by 2 hours. We do apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
Changes to our Cats and Dogs categories
We recently released our new Code of Animal Welfare for Cats and Dogs. When we announced the code we gave Trade Me members a heads up about some changes coming to listing cats and dogs in order to promote greater animal welfare when they’re listed with us.
The first of those changes comes into effect today. We have now split the Cat and Dog categories into 'to buy’ and ‘to adopt’. This allows sellers to clearly state whether they are selling a dog or cat, or if they’re simply trying to rehome an animal they can no longer care for.
All current listings are in the process of being migrated to the new categories so sellers don’t need to make any changes to their listings. More...
