Site Issue This Morning
We had an issue this morning between 10:10am and 10:30am that caused the site to be slow or unavailable. We have now resolved the issue and have extended all auctions that were due to close between 10:10am and 10:45am by one hour.

CanTeen Bandanna Challenge
Kev the kiwi has his bandanna tied tight for the CanTeen Bandanna Challenge, which runs for the next two weeks.
The bandanna is a symbol of hope and courage for the thousands of young New Zealanders living with cancer. Between 14 – 30 September, CanTeen sells specially-designed bandannas that you can pick up from major retailers, community groups, in shopping malls and on the streets.

Photos often contain EXIF data. EXIF data may include location information, such as when and where each photo was taken, and details of the device used to take it. If you upload photos that include EXIF data to Trade Me, we will store this information and use it to better understand the use of photos on our site and to help us provide a safe marketplace. Spring is almost here and it’s the perfect time to have a clean-out. We’d like to help you out, so all general items auctions with $1 as the start and reserve price will have free Gallery* from Sunday 2 September.
The Gallery feature is a great way to get more eyes on your listing, and combined with $1 reserve you’ll attract more bids and increase the chances of getting a good price for your item. We held a similar promotion last year and it was a great success for both sellers and buyers.
So get cracking and list those weird and not so weird knick-knacks that have been hanging about since who-knows-when, and enjoy our spring Gallery feature promotion right through until 11:59pm on Tuesday 16 October. More...
Wellington Zoo and Trade Me combine forces
We’ve proudly signed on again as a sponsor of the Wellington Zoo Trust, extending our relationship with the Zoo which began in 2010. We think it is a great fit for Trade Me, and the Zoo team understand that engaging with the large and active Trade Me community is a cool way to help raise the profile of the great work they do in Newtown and beyond.
Wellington Zoo have some neat attractions, and one we’re getting in behind is The Twilight Te Ao Mahina, the Zoo’s home for kiwi and tuatara. We’re also helping out with the Zoo’s kiwi advocacy and protection work.
Over time you may see more cool Zoo auctions pop up, like their recent auction to name a quartet of meerkats: the winning bidder came up with Runako & Sid (boys), and Hanna & Edda (girls). Keep your eye out for more on this front too. More...
