Changes to shotgun, rifle and ammunition auctions

Written by Trade Me staff at 4:03pm, Wed 3 Jun 2009

Buyers of ammunition are now required to be authenticated and must enter a valid firearms licence number when they bid on ammunition.

Asking a question on a shotgun, rifle or ammunition auction now requires a valid firearms licence number to be entered.

We have implemented these changes to ensure that firearms and ammunition sales comply with current firearm laws. Reminder: prior to the completion of the trade, the buyer must show the seller his or her firearms licence in person, or supply a written order signed by a member of the Police.

Site performance

Written by Trade Me staff at 12:51pm, Wed 27 May 2009

We experienced an issue with one of our database servers which resulted in the site running slowly or being unavailable for some members between 12:15pm and 12:30pm.

All auctions that were due to close around this time have been extended by 1 hour.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused and as always we will do everything we can to prevent it happening again.
