New “Buy Now” limit to protect sellers
Today we have introduced a limit on the number of auctions each member can place a “Buy Now” on. Members are now limited to 20 “Buy Now” transactions in a day.
This has been introduced to stop scammers (or automated software) bidding on large numbers of auctions where there is no intent to purchase.
Scheduled Outage on 28th October
Trade Me will be down for a scheduled outage on Thursday at 6am for approximately one hour.
All auctions that have a finish time between 6:00am and 8:00am, will be extended by 2 hours. So auctions due to close at 7am will close now at 9am. We are doing a routine system upgrade and apologise for any inconvenience.
'Wairarapa - Carterton' location added
To change your location, update 'Closest town' on your 'My details' page.
Your location is displayed in all of the auctions you list.
Email subject added for seller/buyer HTML emails
Emails are sent from Trade Me to the buyer and seller for successful auctions. Now, if you click on the email address of the other trader in the Trade Me HTML email sent to you, we also populate the email subject for you.
Category changes
A Construction & Industrial category has been added under Trade Me Motors for diggers & forklifts. A few categories have also moved within Trade Me Motors.
The Horse & Pony category from Lifestyle>Pets & animals has been removed, and it is now found under Sports>Equestrian.
If your item was listed in any of the categories that have been moved or removed, you will be asked to reselect a category when re-listing. All of the other auction details will be carried over as per normal, including your photo.
