Upcoming changes for international traders

From the 1st of January 2005, selling on Trade Me will be restricted to members located in New Zealand and Australia. International members can still purchase goods on Trade Me, but will not be permitted to list items for sale.

In addition, from the 1st of February 2005, sellers located in Australia will be required to accept payment to a New Zealand bank account as one of their means of payment. The majority of Australians selling in New Zealand already have New Zealand bank accounts.

These changes will increase the quality of listings on Trade Me and improve the buyer experience for New Zealanders – which make up over 95% of our community.  More...

Banking delays over Christmas/New Year

Minimum bid increment changes

The minimum bid increments for auctions have changed to simplify bidding.

Category changes

This week we are adding and removing categories where necessary.

If your item was listed in any of the categories that have been changed, you will be prompted to reselect a category from the new breakdown when relisting. All of the other auction details will be carried over as per normal, including your photo.

Removal of Spotlight Auctions & Honesty box

We have removed the Honesty box and Spotlight Auction functionality from Trade Me. Our findings show that this functionality was confusing and was used very little by members.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused.
