Brachycephalic dog breeds banned on Trade Me

From 1 March 2018, pugs, British bulldogs and French bulldogs will be banned for sale on Trade Me. This includes purebreds and cross breeds.

We’ve made a decision to ban these breeds because they suffer acutely from a condition called Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome, which condemns these dogs to a life of ill health.

This is not a decision we’ve made lightly, as we know how popular and well-loved these breeds are, however we cannot in good conscience allow the sale of these animals any further.  More...

An update to our terms and conditions

On 26 January 2018 we’ll be making a minor update to our terms and conditions.

This will clarify our ability to offer discounts on our success fees (as we did in our Labour weekend promotion), and acknowledge that certain conditions may apply to these discounts.

Payment delays over the New Year holiday

With the New Year holiday around the corner, phone or internet banking payments to Trade Me accounts will have a small processing delay.

Any payments made after 10:00 pm on Friday 29 December will be processed on Thursday 4 January.

As always, if you top up by credit or debit card, your payment will be popped on to your account instantly. More...

Phishing email scam

A phishing scam email is being sent around at the moment, targeting Trade Me members. The email is pretending to be a shopping cart purchase that tells the recipient they've purchased a BBQ. This is fake, and it hasn't been sent by us. The purpose of this email is to 'phish' or obtain your Trade Me login details as well as your credit card details. If you receive this email, please send it through to us at abuse@trademe.co.nz and then delete it.

What if I've clicked the link and entered my details?
If you've entered your Trade Me log in details please email us on abuse@trademe.co.nz.

If you've entered your credit card details call your bank immediately to cancel the card. Then please email us. More...

Payment delays over the Christmas holiday

Due to the upcoming Christmas holiday, there’ll be a delay in processing payments to your Trade Me account made by phone or internet banking.

If you pay by these methods, payments made after 10:00 pm on Friday 22 December will not be processed until Thursday 28 December.

If you top up by credit or debit card, your payment will be processed instantly. More...
