The Christchurch earthquake

Written by Paul in General, Motors, Property, Jobs and Top Seller at 5:46pm, Tue 22 Feb 2011

It has been a black day in Christchurch with the 6.3 magnitude quake that struck just before 1pm today wreaking havoc. It is a real kick in the guts for the city, and our thoughts are with all those who have been affected in some way today.

Over on the message boards, people are helping each other out with advice and information, and it is operating as a place to share experiences from a very tough day. You can post your thoughts in the dedicated Christchurch quake area. When events like this hit, the message boards can be a pretty humbling place to be.

As far as we can tell, a couple of other good places to keep an eye on for information are Environment Canterbury's www.canterburyearthquake.org.nz website and the Civil Defence websiteMore...

Horse races are traditionally won with speed, but artistic talent will play a big part in deciding which horse will raise the most funds for charity in the Fastest Art race.

18 life-size fibreglass horses, painted by the likes of artist Billy Apple, fashionista Karen Walker and thespian Oscar Kightley, were revealed for the first time at Ellerslie this week. More...

A reminder about Rugby World Cup tickets

Written by Paul in General at 9:00pm, Mon 14 Feb 2011

With the third phase of Rugby World Cup 2011 ticketing being rolled out this week, we thought it wise to ensure members were clear on restrictions around the sale of these tickets.

The T&Cs of the tickets also don’t allow resale or transfer to anyone you don’t know personally, so you should assume you can only pass on tickets to friends and loved ones.  More...
