Our clever team of mobile developers have been hard at work creating all kinds of handheld awesomeness, and today we’re excited to unveil our new-look Trade Me app for iPhone.

Important consumer law change applies from today
From today, sellers must make it clear if they are ‘in trade’ when selling items online.
This will mean that consumers know when they are protected under the Fair Trading Act and the Consumer Guarantees Act. The Fair Trading Act applies to what people in trade say and do when selling goods and services. The Consumer Guarantees Act provides guarantees for when you purchase from a person in trade.

Sue Chetwin: “Know your rights”
Consumer NZ chief executive Sue Chetwin has kindly penned a guest post about the upcoming changes to consumer law that kick in later this month.

Also businesses will have to identify themselves so you’ll know if you’re buying from a professional or from some bod who’s clearing out his flat. More...

The Cart can be used for listings that offer Buy Now and credit card payment via Pay Now. To add an item to your Cart, click the ‘Add to Cart’ button when you see it on a listing.
